New Release – Weighed Down by Iona James and The Lewtas Nine

‘Weighed Down’ is a collaboration between Iona James and The Lewtas Nine. ‘Weighed Down’ will be released 4th February. A pre-save is available here. Here’s what Jay Lewtas had to say:

“We collaborated together previously releasing ‘Falling Stars‘ back in August, blending Ionas angelic vocals with my indie rock style. We met through that collaboration, fell in love and now we live together in Glasgow. While adjusting to our new life we have continued to write together and record in our studio and ‘Weighed Down’ is the first of these to be released.”

“‘Weighed Down’ can be read as a song about the difficulties faced when waiting for an imminent and essential future to materialise from a heavy past.”

“I put the music together and a little chorus and if you point Iona at the microphone with a pen in her hand the rest of the song will just appear exactly as it should be within minutes.
This is special to us both as it’s the first recorded together in our new home, watching each other write and learning each others ways of working. A really beautiful experience.”

Bio – Iona is a nurse in Glasgow pursuing her dream of writing and releasing music which has been very well received over the last 12 months.

The Lewtas Nine is Jay Lewtas, a former pro musician from Liverpool who started releasing his own songs back in March.
