Doncaster (UK) based Odd Wall has teamed up with singer/songwriter Azuma on this vocal drum & bass anthem ‘Take Me Down’ which will be out on April 29th.
What’s ‘Take Me Down’ about?
“It’s is about life and when you feel like it’s falling apart. When you have all that noise in your head trying to take you down but no matter what, you keep fighting through it and come back again and again. ‘No happy without the pain’.”
Is this release different from your previous releases?
“Oh yes. It’s a completely different genre to what I usually make. I wanted to make some uptempo tracks and I love listening to vocal drum & bass so I thought to myself why not give it a go. Usually I steer more towards hip hop or R&B, which I am still making as well, but I’ve really been having fun making some drum & bass tracks. I have about 3/4 ready to go after this one.”
Where was it recorded and mixed?
“Three different places, I produced the track at my home studio in Doncaster (UK). Once I had the music ready I sent it over to Azuma and she recorded her vocals in Turkey. Then Adam Whittaker mixed and mastered the song in central Europe where he resides. The song has built up some air miles already.”
