New Release – Some fantastic (WAR) by IndifferentMonKeY

IndifferentMonKeY started recording in the summer of 2021. Since then so much has happened. Highlights include co-headlining on HAWK FEST with the legendary Hawkwind and being shortlisted for a major Hollywood Movie, a Netflix series and appearing on The Billy Talent Playbook video game. The band have also been nominated for “Band of the Year” on Radio Wig Wam.

The band, formed by songwriter/producer Joe Lowe, are looking forward to an exciting year ahead. There will be fire and brimstone with live gigs and more releases, with their fantastic lead singer Pippa and Brendan Syson on guitar and Graham Derbyshire on drums. The band aim to release their debut album early 2023.

They are just about to release their 9th single ‘Some fantastic (WAR)’. It will be officially out on all major platforms 20th December. However, they are slowly releasing it on their profiles like Soundcloud, Bandcamp, YouTube etc. ‘Some Fantastic (WAR)’ is currently number 1 in the UK on the reverbnation alternative chart.

“The song is about how most human beings are actually kind. Yet for some reason horrible WARS stil exist in 2022 and destroy lives. It’s a protest song but with a positive musical and melodic feel to hopefully lift people’s mood in hard times.”

“The original song is by Lonnie Richard from The Space Sharks under the title ‘Some Fantastic’. Lonnie and Joe befriended each other from a mutual appreciation of each others work around two years ago. The friendship became very close and although they’ve never met – Lonnie is from Maryland, USA and Joe from Morecambe, UK – they essentially write to each other two or three times a week. Joe loved Lon’s original song and after a lot of discussions Lonnie agreed Joe could do his own version. Joe completely changed the arrangement and added a new lyrical Chorus “You’re gonna blow the world to pieces cos you don’t know what peace is”. After a few months of rewrites and a lot of mixing with Pippa now doing the vocals and a little bit of extra guitar on top of Lon’s brilliant guitar work it came together. Its a great collaboration of friendship and song writing across the pond.”
