What inspired you to write this song?

“’One Summer’s Day’ is inspired by my personal experience of being in a healthy relationship that contains peaks and downfalls. I met my current partner in summer 2021 and I’m very grateful to have found someone I can potentially see a long-term future with. In the lyrics, I wanted to acknowledge that not every relationship is always going to be perfect, and despite the adversities that you both face, love always wins.”

When releasing a new single is there a sense of excitement or panic?

“I think any artist would be lying if they said they feel a sense of panic when releasing a new song. Despite saying that, I’m also really excited to be releasing more music after so long and after the chaos which was 2022. I was struggling with my physical health really bad and this time last year so releasing this a year on is an achievement for me. I can’t wait for the world to hear an upbeat song from me for a change.”

What movie or tv series should feature this song and why?

“I could definitely see my song in a series of Love Island as it has that upbeat vibe where you could hear it as the contestants are chilling out near the pool or getting ready for a party (laughs)!

Why did you decide to release this one as the first single of the EP?

“I think this sets the scene of the beginning of the EP and I wanted to comeback with a song that expressed my new sound, as well as being a distraction from the sadness of the rest of the EP that focuses on my personal experience of cystic fibrosis.”
