New Release – GROUND N’ POUND by Chris Boddington

Birmingham (UK) based Chris Boddington has been writing music for a good 38 years or so, but only decided to start finishing tracks and releasing them during the first lockdown. He released his first album ‘Lockdown’ in 2021 and his second album ‘Dirty Bit’ in early 2022.

His upcoming single ‘GROUND N’ POUND’ is the last single to be released before his third album, ‘Can’t Complain’.

“After this album, I have the shell of seven further albums to crack on with.”

What are you hoping to achieve with this release?

This is the fourth and final single to be released from my third album ‘Can’t complain’ which is due out at the end of the year. I am just trying to improve a little each track from the writing, production and marketing which I know is a major part of the process. I definitely feel I am getting a little stronger each track and am giving more care and attention to the production so tracks are as good as I can get them before releasing them.”

When releasing a new single is there a sense of excitement or panic?

“Total and utter excitement, I love getting new music out there and whether one person or a hundred like it, I love the entire process, trying new things and pushing myself. I’m lucky in as much as I have no real expectation level so can’t ever really get disappointed, I just the love the whole game which includes supporting others who are going through the same thing.”

What movie or tv series should feature your music and why?

“Well I picture it working well as a juxtaposition to an old classic martial arts film, or a modern take in the way Tarantino works. I love film music and although it may only ever be me who notices I have that a little in mind when writing.”

“This track is not a collaboration but I do have an entire albums of collaborations in the making, but it won’t be out until 2024 all being well.”

‘GROUND N’ POUND’ is out 14th October.
