New Release – Flux Deluxe (album) by Chris Hardy World
South Carolina’s Chris Hardy World is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter, who lists artists such as XTC, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Foo Fighters and Robyn Hitchcock as musical influences.
Chris Hardy World has been busy in 2021 – he’s already released a double album this year, and is about to release a third album called ‘Flux Deluxe’ on 3rd September.
How would you describe the album?
“It’s a collection of songs from my “Great Flood of 2021” songwriting storm from January and February 2021 when I wrote and recorded 50 new songs. This is the remaining batch of songs that don’t appear on another album.”
“Musically, it’s mostly rock – some acoustic rock, some electric rock, some pop-rock and a bit of experimental rock. Overall, it’s almost similar to Sting, Elvis Costello, XTC, Fastball and maybe Joe Jackson, but not nearly as angry.”
Do you have a favourite song on the album?
“Yup, it’s called ‘Action Plan’. It’s my favourite because I wrote it about my experience of walking away from a well paying corporate job after 10 years because I realized it was slowly dissolving my soul. Best decision I ever made!”
Where was it recorded and mixed?
“In my home studio – I did literally everything myself. I played real drums, bass, guitar, piccolo bass, keyboards, all the vocals and all the mixing & mastering. When the inspiration for 50 songs hits me all at once, this “one man” method is effective for capturing all of it!”
Chris Hardy World has already got a fourth album in the can for the fall of 2021.
