New Release – Existential Dreadlocks (album) by Joe Adhemar

Joe Adhemar is a studio-based, multi-instrumentalist living West of London (UK). After 20 years of songwriting and modestly produced bedroom demos, he finally got in gear with mixing and mastering in the last couple of years. He has produced for Silver Haar and Joe Peacock’s album ‘Before The Robots Told Us Where to go

Joe’s fourth album ‘Existential Dreadlocks’, described by LondonPeaky.com as a “sonic ram raid on everything you’d forgotten you loved, craved and needed in your life” will be released to streaming services on 25th February. The album was already available to buy on Bandcamp since the end of September 2021.

“To make up for this I will be adding some as yet, unreleased work to the album as bonus tracks which I will eventually put on album five. These bonus tracks are exclusive to the folks who have purchased the album on Bandcamp, so those people will be the only ones to hear them until album five is released.”

The album was written between March and September 2021. It was written, mixed and mastered by Joe himself.

“Around June 2021 when I was mulling over releasing it, I was feeling pretty fucked up about the world. Like many of us. Since then I’ve become a bit less fraught, but I loved the novelty of the word play in the chosen album name. I ditched a couple of the more fear-laden tracks so it might not be the most apt album title now.”

“There’s songs of love as well as dystopian fantasy, so I’m covering the pessimists and optimists with equal vigour.”

Joe already released three singles of the album, ‘Off and On’, ‘Fires’ and ‘A Broken Bond’. To coincide with the album release Joe will also release a fourth single ‘Dopamine Girl’.

“It was a song I wrote for my daughter who like most kids of her age, occasionally struggles to make sense of this mad world. It is the strongest lyric for me on the whole album and I am very proud of her and the track too!”

“The song will feature a video I have finished recently that is one of my most artistically pleasing ones to date. A synergy of modern art – a lyric video with a Mondrian twist that for me is another step up in creating videos with artistic credibility.”

The video will premiere on Friday 25th February.
