New Release – Elevate by Rose Alaimo

Rose Alaimo is a one-lady band from Ithaca NY who writes, performs and records all of her own music. She is also a vegetable farmer and a veterinarian.

“I’m super excited about the release of the first single from my upcoming album ‘Grow’. The song is called ‘Elevate‘ and it releases on August 16th.”

“The music for Elevate was written years ago when I was in grad school, but the lyrics were written about a year and a half ago right when the world started going a bit crazy. The song asks the question, “How can I live a good, moral life, be a good person, and seek enlightenment in a world that is so busy all the time?” Like most rock songs, it begins with a lyrical reference to Plato’s Allegory of the Cave HAHA 😉 and pretty much launches from there. How can I be kind and patient with others when I have a million things to do and not enough time? How can I find peace and recharge when I need to be at work by 8am, need to hit the DMV before they close, have to wait on hold for an hour to ask questions about my electric bill, need to worry about where my health insurance is going to come from when I change jobs, need to get my oil changed, have to spend time with the people I love, need to exercise and take better care of myself physically… it often feels almost impossible to be the best version of ourselves when we are inundated with so much all the time. The song is an adrenaline rush and is how most days have felt over the last year or two.”

“Elevate, and the entire album really, is very different from my previous work. I feel very strongly as an artist to have each project be unique and sound different from the last, and this one definitely does. It’s a pretty heavy, gritty, rock album and is an exploration of emotional, spiritual, and mental growth and the challenges we find therein.”

“I do write, perform and record all of my own music in my home, but this album was created with production mentorship from producer Jamie Hill at Department of Energy Management, Tacoma WA. We worked on these songs throughout the last year- I would send him a demo and record all the parts on my end, and then he would help me with the sound engineering aspects and we would bounce it back and forth until it was how we wanted it, and once all the songs were done he mastered them in his studio. Working with Jamie was an amazing experience. While COVID-19 was raging around the world, I spent every spare hour I had locked up in my studio working with him remotely on these songs. Not only did I make an amazing new friend and learn a TON about production from him, but working on this with Jamie during this insane year saved my soul. It gave me a place to go where I could safely explore and throw around all of the feelings I was experiencing during this crazy time, and with his help I think we were able to harness a lot of that energy and direct it into the music in a really meaningful way.”
