New Release – Echoes (EP) by Blue Nation

Blue Nation are a three-piece band hailing from Birmingham (UK). They use riff based melodic bluesrock from a reservoir of influences, including the Beatles, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Brit Pop 90’s, more recently Rival Sons and Vintage Trouble, to create their memorable sound.

Their four track EP ‘Echoes’ will be out (digitally) 2nd September. The physical CD release will take place at the O2 Institute in Birmingham 24th September – https://bit.ly/EPlaunchTickets – which is Blue Nations largest headline show to date!

“We needed to get these songs to the next level and the only person we wanted to go with was Trevor Gibson to record, mix and produce us. Trevor is one of the best in the music industry and my god we were nervous! Trevor has won a Grammy in 2015 created / acted in his film ‘Scream for Me Sarajevo’ and to top it all off has done several TEDx event talks! He is also one of the nicest people we have ever met.”

“During preproduction was probably one of the hardest times for us. We have never done pre-production before recording and Trev really put us through our paces. Trev has a beautiful way of looking at songs and getting you to see what needs to change without telling you! He lets you get there! The best moments were seeing the songs come to life from where they came from. It was a magical experience as Trevor pulled the sounds out of heads!”

“We want people to forget about whatever troubles they are having currently. The whole ethos of us and the songs is to give people that escapism from life and enjoy the music. We write songs about times in our own lives, and it resonates with the crowd and listeners. We receive messages on social media channels telling us how they have related to our songs, and it just makes everything worthwhile. Nothing is better than making someone feel like they have been heard or that the band have been in the same position.”

The EP was produced, recorded and mixed by Trevor Gibson at Circle (Recording) Studios in Birmingham. It was mastered by David Greenberg at Sonopod Mastering.
