New Release – Convenient by Odd Wall
Odd Wall is a producer/songwriter from London, UK. His new single, which will be released on Friday the 3rd of September, is called ‘Convenient’ and features Thir13een. This is the first single taken from his forthcoming debut album ‘Fear’.
What’s the song about?
“‘Convenient’ is about that feeling you get when you know that you’re second best to someone. When somebody only wants you when it suits them or benefits them. Doesn’t just have to be a partner, could be a friend, family member etc. I think everyone’s sent a text to someone and not got a reply then you see them posting on social media. It’s definitely a song a lot of people will relate to.”
When releasing a new single is there a sense of excitement or panic?
“Massive excitement mixed with unbelievable panic. This release is the most excited I’ve been about a release before because it’s the first single from my debut album. That also drowns me in panic though, the self doubt creeps in and the over thinking takes over. “Is it good enough”, “what if no one likes it” etc. I think it’s because I’ve worked so hard on this album that the first song people hear from it has to be good.”
What’s your favourite memory of writing and/or recording?
“So, I actually had another vocalist on the track to begin with, but as we were working on it I realised his voice didn’t suit the track. Also he wanted me to change the lay out of the track because he wanted it like a typical song (verse, pre chorus, chorus, verse, pre etc.) and couldn’t understand my vision that I wanted to lay it out different. We parted ways and I was thinking that I was going to have to leave this song off the album. I sent it to Thir3een and I just remember getting that email and hearing his vocals for the first time on it and it was exactly how I had envisioned it. THAT moment right there is my favourite.”
