New Release – Beauty by Et-Co*

Et-Co* is a contemporary electronic pop project created by Sonia Linares, David Chueca Folch and Antonio León. They released two studio albums independently: ‘PRIMe!’ and ‘Liberto!’. Et-Co* are currently working on the production of their third studio album ‘PHAROS!’, which will be released in November 2023. Their third album represents a new evolution in their artistic dimension, incorporating electronic synthesisers and trip hop pop sounds into their contemporary exploration.
The new single ‘Beauty’ will be out 29th September. A pre-save is available here.
What inspired you to write this song?
“It began as a chant, like an old fairy tale that someone sang in front of the deep blue sea, as if wanting to turn blue, to be able to see the waves talking to the sun. That kind of mesmerising experience you can immerse yourself into.”
“The lyrics and music are both abstract and poetic, just as if floating in an unknown space, without gravity and just following an inner sense of beauty.”
When did you write it?
“We wrote it one day when we were rehearsing for the new album. We created the basic idea, and months later, in the studio, we heard it back again and we worked on the production of the track so that we could transform its sound into something more like an ambient mood.”
Is this release different from your previous releases?
“Yes, we think it’s a risky single, so quiet, non-hypermoving song. In this new single, we find the mostpoetic and experimental part of Et-Co*, with influences from the darkest trip hop of the ’90s such as Massive Attack and Portishead, evoking suggestive and risky textures.”
Is the release accompanied with a music video?
“Yes, it has a homemade lyric video, inspired in the sense that the song gave us, a sort of softness and waving sound, so we built this idea using free licenses clips of water and softness. The video will be released on our YouTube channel on the day of the release.”
Where was it recorded and mixed?
“It was recorded at Marlee Records Studios at El Baix Penedès, a rural area in Catalonia, (Spain). The song was produced by Antonio León and David Chueca. Mixes are by David Chueca and mastered at CatMastering by Juanjo Muñoz.”
