Morningside Lane is a four-piece indie rock band. They dropped their debut album ‘These Are Our Years’ early September. They had previously released a couple of EP’s.

When I first heard ‘The Summer Wind‘ it sounded vaguely familiar, but I was unable to pinpoint why. It started to make sense when I later read where they’re based.

‘The Summer Wind’ is a modern rock song with the sound of the ‘80’s. The drums awake memories of ‘Addicted to Love’ by Robert Palmer. The music itself is best described as ‘Bryan Adams meets Bruce Springsteen’. The vocals remind me of Bret Michaels (Poison) and Jon Bon Jovi.

Morningside Lane is from New Jersey and you can definitely hear the New Jersey roots in this song. The Boss and Bon Jovi had better watch their backs. There’s a new band in town!
